E.T. is probably one of the best fantasy films ever made! It comes from the incredible director that is Steven Spielberg, Don't know who he is? Well some of his other works as a director include; "Schindler's List" "Saving Private Ryan" "Minority Report" "Jurassic Park" "Hook" "Jaws" "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and the hugely successful "India Jones" franchise. So really if you are into your films, then you will know exactly who this man is.

E.T. tells the story of an alien who is left behind accidentally by his crew on planet earth. Shortly after this the film reverts to the leader of the plot "Elliot" who is currently having tea, when he goes outside to get his pizza he notices the stranded alien, when he comes back in the house he tells his family, but they do not believe him!

Annoyed at this, Elliot leaves a trail of candy for E.T. to follow, remarkably the alien does follow the trail back to Elliot's house, and Elliot ends up keeping him in his cupboard. The next morning Elliot pretends he is ill just so that he can mess around with his new found alien friend. Later on in the afternoon Elliot's brother Michael and younger sister Gertie stumble upon the alien. They all mutually decide to hide the alien from their mum. E.T. shows the family where he is from by levitating balls to represent the solar system, and to show off his incredible space type powers he also brings a dead plant back to life.

The day after this events start to get more weird for Elliot as he develops a physic connection with the alien, an example we see of this, is when the alien goes through Elliot's fridge and he starts drinking some beer, this instantly makes Elliot act in an intoxicated state. Shortly after this E.T. gets help from Elliot to make a device that will phone home, they do this with ease by using a Speak & Spell toy as a communicator. Due to his longer than planned stay on planet earth E.T.'s health starts to deteriorate and Elliot gets worried, so in an attempt to help E.T. find his way back home, Elliot takes E.T. to the forest for a better signal. E.T. successfully contacts home.

As E.T. is slowly dying, Elliot is slowly dying too due to their physic connection, and events to from bad to worse as E.T. goes missing the next morning. Elliot's brother Michael finds E.T. and brings him home. Shortly after this, the government find out about the alien, and they decide to quarantine Elliot and E.T. to find out what is wrong with them. E.T. and Elliot quickly make a getaway to the forest, where E.T. reunites with his shipmates and returns home.

Drew Barrymore is another classic actor who appears in this amazing film, even though she is so young in this film, her acting and presence helped make this film a classic. She has gone on to be in huge films such as "Scream" "Charlie's Angel" "50 First Dates" and much more!

Although Henry Thomas who played Elliot has not had better luck with his acting career compared to Drew Barrymore, his iconic acting has helped make E.T. the huge success it is and always will be, E.T. is a true classic in the film world.
