LazyTown Costumes

LazyTown is a well known TV series that shortly ran between 2004 and 2007, in its short time it was a massive hit with children all over the world and has lead to huge interest in LazyTown costumes.

The narrative behind this show is as follows: The young Stephanie moves into a new town, once there she instantly makes new friends, their names are Ziggy, Trixie, Stingy, and Pixel. Stephanie is appalled to find out that all these people do is stay in and play video games all day, so she spends her days trying to convince her friends to go outside and be more active in their lives. Shortly after she arrives in town she gets help from her uncle who just so happens to be the Mayor of the town. He calls in the help of Sportacus who describes himself as a "slightly-above-average-hero". So it is up to Sportacus to inspire and convince Stephanie's friends to be more energetic and active in their life. This does not go down well with local lazy man Robbie Rotten who is trying to keep everyone in the town very lazy! Most of the episodes basically involve Robbie Rotten trying to find ways to get Stephanie and Sportacus to leave the town for good, normally he attempts this by dressing up in a mysterious outfit to confuse and trick them.

It's no surprise then that the demands for fancy dress with a LazyTown theme has lead to the creation of some very unique costumes which we now have available along with some LazyTown accessories to help complete the look.

The moral behind this show is very simple, and it applies really to children all over the world, who are constantly sitting inside playing video games, or sat on the internet, so some might say this show could apply to your average teenager more than a child, but the idea is to stop people from being lazy at a young age, which is a great concept.

This children's television show was created and produced in Iceland, with a cast that came from all over the world, from places such as Iceland, USA, and the UK. The series was actually crafted and created by Magnus Scheving who also stars in the TV series as Sportacus. Overall a total of 52 episodes were made, and since its end in 2007 LazyTown continued to create side projects such as LazyTown Live! This is basically a touring performance of the show, which hit venues all over the world. There was also another spin-off entitled LazyTown Extra which was for 3-6 year olds. This show didn't feature many of the original voices from the original LazyTown; the shows were also just short sketches of the LazyTown team. This show was nowhere near as successful as the original LazyTown.
