South Park is an American cartoon which was created by 'Trey Park' and 'Matt Stone' in 1997 for the huge channel 'Comedy Central' the TV series is intended to be for a slightly more mature audience as some of the content is not suitable for a certain age limit. Our fancy dress costumes though are suitable for any age.
The narrative behind South Park is based around four boys Stan Marsh, Kyle Broflovski, Eric Cartman and Kenny McCormick. Pretty much every episode will show the gang getting into weird and wild adventures in their Colorado home town. In 2004 South Park hit number 3 in The 100 Greatest Cartoons just short of the legendary Tom and Jerry cartoon.
The creators of South Park 'Parker' and 'Stone' met in college and created the show from two short animations they did in 1992 and as well as another in 1995. The video in 1995 became one of the first viral videos (a video that gets thousands and thousands of views over night) and this of course led to the production of the first episode of South Park. When South Park first started it was created and produced by 'Cutout Animation' techniques but now the programme is run using a lot more computer software, which has helped create a unique and iconic presence for the show.
Two years after its release we saw the release of the musical film 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' which was a hit the world over, the film tells the story of the third graders as they take on another epic adventure which involves Satan and Saddam Hussein! I think that information alone is enough to outline the weird and wacky plot lines South Park is known for. You might be pleased to know that we have the Devil costume which turns heads and gets a laugh at any fancy dress event whether you are a South Park fan or not.
One of the creators of South Park Trey Parker can been known for directing the cult classic Team America: World Police, which was just as funny as the South Park franchise and was a hit with South Park fans all over the world. Fingers crossed that maybe one day the South Park audiences can expect another film.
Here are a couple of points that have helped make South Park the classic cartoon it is today: Firstly there have been many cameo guest stars in South Park, such as Jay Leno, Robert Smith (The Cure) and even the bands Radiohead and Korn have made an appearance in the show. Also the show is known for taking classic film ideas and turning them into an episode. An example of this can be seen when the characters of South Park have an Inception themed episode.
